These are some
common questions that you might have about me and my freelance writing
services. They can help you get to know me and my abilities quickly,
so that when you contact me with a project, we can get down to business
straight away. My clients appreciate my ability to ask the right
questions. I can communicate with a technical and sales personnel
with complete confidence in my ability and I understand their needs
quickly.
What are your qualifications?
I have been freelance writing since 1999,
and since then I have produced over 400,000 words of published work.
My experience includes direct sales letters, brochures, web pages,
technical instructions, game design material, articles, fiction,
and ghostwriting. My novel The Ivory Star was published
in 1997. My next novel, Heart of the Ronin, will be published
in hardcover in Spring 2009. From 2003 to 2006, I worked full-time
as an English teacher in Japan. Prior to that, I worked as an electronic
design engineer for 8 years. I have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
What kind of assignments do you handle?
I offer a wide assortment of copywriting
services for business, entertainment, and industrial clients. The
spectrum of my services includes many types of marketing or technical
communications materials, including ads, feature articles, presentations,
press releases, catalogs, newsletters, manuals, Web sites, scripts,
and reports. I specialize in clear, easy-reading copy.
My clients appreciate my ability to sit down
with technical professionals and understand their needs quickly.
I speak Tech, and I speak Sales, and that's a hot combination.
I also handle ghostwriting, proofreading,
and editing assignments. It's often a good idea to have a second
set of trained eyes look at your project, or to have trained hands
take the reins, someone who can make you look even
better.
Do you offer graphic design services as
well?
I work closely with several talented graphic
designers. Together we can provide you with a full array of eye-catching,
compelling marketing materials, from logos to brochures. And you’ll
find my rates for a full graphic treatment of your copywriting project
to be a fraction of what you would pay at an ad agency.
How much does it cost to hire you?
Just let me know what you need, and I will
quote you a price. Just fill out my contact form, and I will be
happy to send you an information kit containing my schedule of fees
and a wealth of other information.
How long will it take you to write my copy?
Typically, depending on the length, I can
turn around an assignment in 1-2 weeks. That is usually enough time
to edit and revise until its perfect for your needs. However, I
do handle rush jobs as well. If you have a rush job, it never hurts
to ask if I can turn it around faster.
What happens if we want to make some changes
in your copy?
There is no charge for rewriting. The price
is included in the fee we've agreed to for the assignment, as long
as the rewrites are requested within 30 days of your receipt of
the copy and are not based on a change in the assignment scope after
I have submitted the copy to you. Tell me how you would like to
improve the project, what changes to make, and I'll make them promptly.
How do I put you to work for me?
That's easy. First, tell me about what you
need. Send me any pertinent background information, such as catalogs,
brochures, manuals, or any other literature. If I have any questions,
I will call you at any time that's convenient for you. When you
give me the green light, I'll do the project to your specifications.
You will receive the copy on or before your deadline, and I guarantee
your satisfaction. My job is to make your life easier, and that's
reflected in the quality of service that I provide.
So, why not try my service for your next
ad, feature article, press release, newsletter, report, catalog,
game design, or manual? I guarantee you'll come back to me for all
your copywriting and editing needs.
